St Andrew Preparatory School boasts a rich heritage spanning 75 years. I am honoured to be a part of this legacy.
The beauty of anniversaries is that they give us the chance to look back and see how far we have come. They give us the chance to confirm that we are on the right path and to carefully plan our future.
Our strong committment to moulding the ‘total’ child is at the core of the success of St. Andrew Prep School. All the stakeholders of this remarkable institution – The Board of Governors, Teachers, Parents and Students have been fundamental to the developments and improvements of the school over the years.
The 75th Anniversary of the establishment of St. Andrew Prep School is significant as we celebrate aspects of our school’s culture that are unique and worth preserving. Our strong sense of family and togetherness; the care and concern shown by our dedicated teachers; a strong Parent Teachers’ Association; our Resource Room Programs which cater to children in need of additional help; a wide range of extra-curricular activities; all these serve to sustain the rich heritage of the school.
Many of our students have gone on to be significant leaders on the world stage. It is difficult not to mention one of the shining examples and products of the school. – Former Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Hon. Michael Manley, whose leadership skills were honed at St. Andrew Prep., where he was elected the school’s first School Captain.
It is our hope that many of our present students will carry on the legacy and become contributing citizens of whom we can proudly speak when we gather to celebrate the school’s centenary.
As we celebrate 75 years we look forward to serving generations to come, seeking always to “Mould the Total Child for Excellence.”
