Certificates for Excellent Work are awarded to children who have an A* average, that is 90% and over based on the assessment of three terms' work, by way of class work, two term-tests and a final examination. Certificates for Very Good Work are awarded to students with averages ranging from 80% - 89%. Certificates of Marked Improvement are given to students with at a least a 10-point increase in their average grade between Term 1 and Term 3. Special Certificates are awarded for Art & Craft, Music, Physical Education, Computer Studies and Spanish. Perfect Attendance is awarded to students who have never been absent or late. House Awards - Chin Shield - Rounders - Machado Shield - Football - Art Trophy & Outstanding Performer for Art - Craft Cup & Outstanding Performer for Craft Awards for Individual Outstanding Performances - Trophy for Best Boy Athlete - Trophy for Best Girl Athlete - Award for Creative Writing - Outstanding GSAT Performances Prizes for School Captains - presented to the School Captains for the year. The Good Citizen Award is given to the child in each class who is deemed to have displayed the qualities of a good citizen in the school community. Such a student should be a good leader, one who helps to foster a healthy social atmosphere in and out of the classroom, is generally helpful and considerate, and is exemplary in behaviour and in his or her attitude towards work and school rule. The Valerie Clacken Award is given to the most all-round student in the final year group, in the Primary Department. The criteria being a good academic record, good leadership skills, school involvement, school spirit and discipline. The Jean Watson Award for Merit is given to the student in the Junior Department with the highest average of all the students, based on the year's assessment of three terms' work by way of class work, two term-tests and a final examination. The Val Milner Award for Academic Achievement is awarded to student at the Grade 6 level who has had the best academic record throughout the years of Grades 4-6, in the Junior Department, based on internal exams or term grades. The Broderick Award for Excellence, unlike the other main awards is given for excellence, either at an individual or group level, whether that excellence is displayed in the classroom or in the extra curricula programme. The Adela Anderson Award for Student of the Year is given to the final year student adjudged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the life of the school. The student consistently produces excellent academic work, exhibits a very commendable attitude to work, is very disciplined, well respected by teachers and peers, shows concern for others, participates in and makes a valuable contribution to school activities and displays good leadership skills.
